With more than 30 years’ experience as a barrister, Neil has extensive expertise in the civil and criminal jurisdictions of New South Wales, the Commonwealth, Victoria and the ACT at both trial and appellate level.
Immediately prior to joining Frederick Jordan Chambers in January 2020, Neil completed 8 years’ service as a New South Wales Crown Prosecutor, rising to the position of Deputy Senior Crown Prosecutor. He spent most of the last five years of his term of office appearing for the Crown in the Court of Criminal Appeal. He has also appeared regularly in the Court of Criminal Appeal as private counsel instructed by the Commonwealth DPP.
Prior to accepting a commission as a Crown Prosecutor, Neil enjoyed a busy mixed practice which included acting as defence counsel in criminal trials and appeals, commercial litigation and common law causes.
