Admitted as a Barrister in NSW in 2001
Mary left journalism to study law, and established her own firm as a solicitor. She works mainly in family law, appearing frequently as counsel for the Independent Children’s Lawyer. She also appears regularly as the separate legal representative in the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and in Mental Health Review Tribunal inquiries.
An experienced mediator, Mary is a graduate of LEADR and Resolution Institute training courses and a member of the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators. She maintains membership of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and is an Associate Member of the New Zealand Law Society.
