Iain Todd has extensive experience in both Defence and Prosecution work, having appeared in a wide range of complex criminal trials in New South Wales.

His practice includes multiple Supreme Court trials involving accused persons facing murder charges, as well as acting as counsel for one of the accused in a three-month drug importation trial in Western Australia.

He is also a member of the Complex Criminal Law Panel for the Legal Aid Commission.

Iain has appeared for appellants and respondents in the Court of Criminal Appeal and the Court of Appeal and regularly provides merit advice on prospective appeals.

He is also on the Legal Aid Commission’s panel to provide advice on appeals to the Court of Criminal Appeal.

In addition to his criminal law practice, Iain advises and appears for plaintiffs and defendants in common law claims, including torts arising from allegations of sexual assault. This work involves drafting pleadings, liaising with expert witnesses, and providing advice on the merits of matters including settlement negotiations.
