Called to the Bar in 2005, Donna has developed a specialised practice in coronial law. Donna frequently appears as Counsel Assisting the Coroner in complex, multi-party hearings or for interested parties including large government departments identified as having a sufficient interest in appearing in coronial inquests and fire inquiries. She is experienced in guiding families through the intricacies of coronial proceedings.

Donna’s specialised family law practice extends to appearing as counsel in complex parenting disputes and appeals in the family law jurisdiction where she appears on behalf of parents, the Independent Children’s Lawyer, intervenors or the Central Authority (in Hague Convention matters).

Donna also regularly advises and appears in complex, contested adoption proceedings.

Her practice sees her regularly appearing in the Coroner’s Court of NSW, Supreme Court of NSW and the Family Court of Australia.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Donna practised for almost a decade as a solicitor with Legal Aid NSW and the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office, with a strong focus on family and child welfare law and administrative law. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts.

Donna is the Co-Chair of the Bar Association Inquest and Inquiries Committee and a member of the Professional Conduct Committee.
