Amendra Singh

Admitted as a Barrister in NSW in 2005

With over 20 years’ experience appearing as an advocate in a diverse range of courts and tribunals across New South Wales, Amendra practises principally in the area of criminal law. His practice also extends to other practice areas including building and construction, employment and industrial law, family law, human rights and discrimination.

Amendra’s criminal law practice has seen him appear in numerous jury trials and hearings with respect to serious criminal offences including violence, sexual offences, money laundering, drug offences, animal cruelty and public justice offences.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Amendra practised as a Senior Criminal Lawyer with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW), a Senior Prosecuting Lawyer at NSW WorkCover Authority and Prosecuting Lawyer, Legal Officer and Acting Deputy Registrar at the Department of Industrial Relations. The considerable experience he gained in these positions from 1992 until commencing practice at the Bar 13 years later, provided him with a solid foundation upon which to deliver high quality representation to his clients.

In addition to his legal qualifications, Amendra also holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Industrial Relations. He is an accredited Mediator under the Australian National Mediator Accreditation Scheme.
