Sean Brennan

LLB

Admitted as a Barrister in NSW in 2004

Called to the bar in 2004 after 10 years appearing in court as a solicitor, Sean has built a diverse Civil and Criminal practice in the Local, District and Supreme Courts of New South Wales. Areas of law in which he commonly appears include Commercial and Equity Litigation, Personal Injury, Criminal Law and Building Disputes.

Sean absorbs and analyses complex materials quickly and is confident appearing at short notice before the Supreme Court Duty Judge for urgent injunctive relief. He frequently appears in final hearings in higher courts either unled or with a junior barrister, including against Senior Counsel. He has done a large number of jury trials and achieved an enviable success rate.

Sean is exceptionally resilient and maintains excellent focus and judgment under pressure. He enjoys the challenge of thinking on his feet and is a highly accomplished cross examiner. His insightful approach and fearless guarding of his client’s interests have underpinned his success in litigation and forged his reputation as a tenacious and principled barrister.

After nearly 30 years of appearing in courts, Sean remains passionate about advocacy and legal philosophy and freely gives his time to his instructing solicitors and junior members of the bar. His outside interests include science, technology, immersion in nature, and appreciation of the arts and music.

Before joining the Bar, Sean worked as a solicitor in private practice as well as the Crown Solicitor’s Office and Legal Aid Commission of New South Wales. Such experience has served to provide Sean with a solid foundation upon which to continue to build his practice at the Bar in his chosen fields of law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney.
