Employment and Industrial Law
Admitted as a Barrister in NSW in 1988
With almost 30 years’ experience at the Bar, Stan brings considerable knowledge and expertise when representing clients at hearings and on appeal in a full range of employment and industrial disputes, and in particular, public sector disciplinary matters.
He acts principally for New South Wales State Crown agencies and major employers in the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court of New South Wales, Fair Work Australia and the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission.
Notably, Stan has completed a Harvard Law School Certificate in Mediation, and an Advanced Mediation Workshop in Washington DC, which was conducted by the convenors of the Harvard Program. Such experience has served to bolster his ability to reach effective solutions for his clients when appearing on their behalf at alternative dispute resolution forums.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Stan practised as a solicitor at top-tier law firm Mallesons Stephen Jacques (now, King & Wood Mallesons) and in-house industrial law counsel for CSR Limited. In addition to his legal qualifications, Stan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with a major in applied psychology) from the University of New South Wales.
