Soruban worked as a solicitor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW) for more than 5 years before coming to the Bar. Soruban currently appears regularly as defence counsel in jury trials in the District and Supreme Courts. He also appears in ICAC and Police Integrity Commission hearings and has advised a number of clients in relation to dealings with the NSW Crime Commission. Soruban has presented papers in the areas of legal ethics and sentencing and is a contributing author to the 2004 A Practitioners Guide to Criminal Law. He is a member of the Australian Association of Constitutional Lawyers. Soruban has been appointed to the Legal Aid NSW Specialist Barrister Panel (Complex Criminal Law).
